Cooking Robot CR1
Industrial Design project realized during autumn 2014 in a group of 4 students.
Explanation of the project
To realize this project, we were a group of 4 students. The goal of this project was to design an innovative cooking robot that could cook food by using cooktops (gas, electric or induction). It also had to be good-looking and modern to fit in actual kitchens.
To begin the project, we started with some previous searches: benchmarking, defining the user, defining the need of the user and realize an external functional analysis. With all of that we were able to define the basic functionnalities that we wanted in our cooking robot.
Then we started our design researches by each drawing several pre-concepts and ideas of innovative functionnalities.
The next step was to select the best ideas from these drawing boards to realize each of us another drawing boards of concept.
Then we used those concepts to mix the best ideas and create the best from all of that.
When we had the final idea, we modelized it with all the pieces that would be included in the product to get a full model of our cooking robot.
At the end, we had a complete new product that could have been prototyped to test it. Unfortunately, we didn't have the resources to do it at school.
You can watch below the video we made during the semester to explain our project. The video is in French with English subtitles.
